Sindh wears Deserted look, eerie silence Engulfs province as Lockdown Begins

Sindh on Monday wore a derserted look and an eerie silence engulfed province after the provincial government imposed lockdown for 15 days to stop the spread of coronavirus which has affected 352 people in the province and nationwide tally hits 799. 

A ban has been placed on unnecessary movement throughout the province. All offices, malls, restaurants, public gatherings and leisure places or activities except those offering essential services had already been shut down.

Restaurants across the province would be allowed to offer home delivery service and take away.

In this regard, heavy contingents of police and Rangers have been deployed across the province.

According to details, bakeries, milk shops and medical stores are open while the families have to take permission from area’s SHO before holding funeral prayers.

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has directed the people to keep National Identity Card with them if they want to go outside for some important work.

Sindh CM had announced the lockdown in the province, on Sunday.

The announcement was made after the meeting via online, was chaired by the Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah on coronavirus situation.

The meeting was also attended by the civil and Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) leadership.

The Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah clarified no one will be allowed on the roads without a solid reason.

He further urged the masses to practise social distancing and avoid visiting public places to curb the spread of coronavirus.

The number of corana cases in Pakistan jumped to 799 on Monday after more cases reported in Gilgit Baltistan.

According to sources, with the rise in the number of cases in Sindh stood at 352, in Punjab at 225, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at 31, in Balochistan at 108, in Islamabad Capital Territory at 11, in Gilgit-Baltistan at 71 as new cases reported today, while AJK reported 01.

06 deaths were reported so far in the country, three fatatlities reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, one each in Sindh, Balochistan and Gilgit-Baltistan.
