Matin Bhai, as we used to call him was not only an accomplished engineer and scientist but also had the mastery of Islamic sciences and history. He built two Masjids in the area and provided help to needy wherever he could.
He was a rare talent and a source of knowledge for me as well as my children. We will miss him a great deal. May Allah have mercy on him and pray for his maghfirah.
I know that most of you would remember him and wanted to share the news with you.

He was our teacher. During our second year (1957), he taught us Metallurgy. Soon thereafter (1958), he came to the States (New York) and went to Columbia and also taught at the same time. He later taught at Naval Academy at Annapolis, MD. He then joined US Navy as a systems Engineer and retired from that position.
His worldly accomplishment were many which he left behind. He raised three wonderful Muslim children. One is a State Department official and the other two are Attorneys/lawyers who will undoubtedly continue to do good deeds and he will be the beneficiary. Like Khurram Murad (marhoom) and Farhat Burney, he was an avid reader and a scholar of Islam. He was the prime mover in establishing two Masjids where people will continue to pray Insha Allah. This 'sawab jaria' will be written in his book.

I would like to make sure that this message will reach Farhat Asrar and Saeed Ahmad.

wassalam
Saleem Khan
