Coronavirus cases surge to 2,689 in Pakistan

The number of COVID-19 patients in Pakistan has risen to 2,689 on early Saturday after new infections confirmed in the country in last 24 hours.
The national dashboard, managed by federal health ministry, the infected tally in Punjab jumped to 1,069, the highest number so far, while the confirmed tally in Sindh stood at 830, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa infected cases climbed to 343, in Balochistan 175 cases reported, Islamabad Capital Territory covid cases mounted to 68, Gilgit-Baltistan at 193, while 11 cases were reported in AJK.
Moreover, 40 deaths were confirmed in the country so far, 11 deaths reported in Punjab, 14 in Sindh, 11 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, three in Gilgit-Baltistan while one death was reported in Balochistan.
According to data, 126 patients have recovered across Pakistan whereas 10 are in critical condition.
