M. Ishaq Bhatti is the founding director of Islamic Banking and Finance Programme at Latrobe University (LTU) the first ever in Australasian region. He hold Professorial position at the Higher Education commission (HEC), Pakistan, Minhaj (Dean, International Affairs), King Abdulaziz University (Finance) and, UAE University (Banking and Finance). Previously, he has taught at Monash, Griffith, International Islamic University, University of Alberta and visited Rider, Magberg, Hitotsubashi, Auckland and Middle Eastern Universities.

He is an author of more than 120 articles, 7 books and a member of the editorial board of various journals. His major areas of research, scholarship and teaching are in Quantitative finance, Islamic finance, Applied Econometrics and Statistics.

He was a member of the team who won HEC of Pakistan, Iraqi and Turkish Central Bank Training 2013, Islamic Development Bank, and the Australian Research Council Discovery Grant jointly with Suren Basov.

He is an Advisory Board member of the Cryptocurrency & Blockchain Regulatory Task Force, Indonesia, Halal Crytocurrency Labuan (Malaysia) and the National Zakat Foundation, Australia and work closely with Zakat@ICV and NILS-No interest loan Qard Hassan, Victoria.
