COVID-19 death toll in Pakistan jumps to 6,318 after 18 fatalities reported

The number of coronavirus cases in the country has mounted to 296,590 on Wenesday after more infections were recorded in different parts of the country.

According to the national database, 441 persons tested positive for the deadly virus in 24 hours.

As per sources, cases in Sindh climbed to 129,615 the highest number so far in the country, while the confirmed infections tally in Punjab stood at 96,921, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cases climbed to 36,265, in Balochistan 12,899 cases reported, Islamabad Capital Territory covid-19 cases reached 15,666, Gilgit-Baltistan tally up to 2,922, while 2,302 cases were reported in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

In addition, the country has recorded 6,318 deaths so far, after 18 fatalities were reported over the last 24 hours.

As per official data, Sindh recorded 2,409 deaths, a highest number as compared to any other province while 2,204 in Punjab, 1,255 deaths were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 71 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 141 in Balochistan, Islamabad Capital Territory has reported 175 deaths and AJK recorded 63 deaths.

According to the NCOC, Pakistan has so far carried out 2,662,508 corona tests and 20,480 in last 24 hours and 281,459 patients have recovered whereas 584 patients are in a critical condition across the country.
