Today, PM will announce to return Karachi its beauty

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Policital Affairs Shahbaz Gill on Saturday has said today is a big day for Karachi when a new era will start.

The Special aide to PM took to Twitter and wrote that PM Imran Khan will announce the return of Karachi to its beauty, lights and grace.

"Today is a big day for Karachi – the beginning of a new era. Today, Prime Minister Imran Khan will announce the return of Karachi to its beauty, light, and prestige." 

Shahbaz Gill further wrote, the PM Imran is going to free the metropolis from the mafia which was behind dirty water, garbage, land occupation mafia and worst transport system.

"Garbage, occupation mafia, and the worst transport system was written," the SAPM added. 

Let it be known that, Prime Minister Imran Khan will arrive in Karachi on a day-long visit today (Saturday) where he will announce more than 50 projects (over 800 billion) under Karachi Transformation Plan for the rain-hit city.

According to sources, PM Imran Khan will spend a busy day in Karachi. The premier will chair Karachi Transformation meeting which will be held at Governor House and where will also address a press conference.

Prime Minister Imran Khan is scheduled to meet the Governor and Chief Minister of Sindh at Governor house at 2pm.

PM will also hold meeting with Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM Pakistan) delegation led by Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui while Federal Minister Aminul Haq and Faisal Subzwari will also be the other members where the Karachi Transformation Plan will be discussed.

During his visit to the city, a delegation of Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) will also meet PM, sources informed.

Sources informed about the plan that, Karachi circular railway project of Rs 300 billion will also be part of the Transformation Plan. The Chinese government will provide Rs 250 billion for the circular railway while the Sindh government would also have a share of Rs50 billion in the project. 

Sources said that Rs 447.45 billion will be spent on mass transit system projects. Under the plan, six mass transit system projects will be announced while road construction and repair projects were estimated at Rs 62.30 billion. Sewerage and solid waste management projects are also included in the Karachi Transformation Plan.

Eight sewerage project costing around Rs 162.60 billion and four solid waste management project with an estimate of Rs 14.86 billion will be announced by the prime minister, sources added.

During his stay in the metropolis, the premier will also visit Pakistan Stock Exchange while he will also meet industrialists and businessmen.
