AC sends Shehbaz Sharif to jail on judicial remand

An accountability court in Lahore on Tuesday has sent Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif to the Kot Lakhpat Jail on 14-day judicial remand.

According to details, a case related to money laundering and assets was heard in the accountability court in Lahore against the PML-N president.

NAB officials requested for another 14 days physical remand of Shahbaz Sharif but the court rejected the NAB's request. 

During the hearing, PML-N president maintained that he had already given all details to the National Accountability Bureau on October 26, 2018.

He added that, he had answered many questions which have become part of the reference and the questionnaire is old, he added.

It is pertinent to mention here that the court had extended physical remand of Shehbaz Sharif till October 20 during the last hearing.
