According to sources, Maryam Nawaz will depart for Gujranwala from Jati Umra in a caravan whereas PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will lead a rally from Lalamusa while Maulana Fazlur Rehman will leave for Gujranwala in a rally from Jamia Ashrafia after Jumma prayers.

They further informed that, at least 7,000 police personnel will be deployed at the Jinnah Stadium to avert any untoward mishap due to rush.

The venue has been decorated with flags and banners of all opposition parties.

On the other hand, police have also prepared a plan to stop the caravans going to attend the rally. Over 24 entry and exit points to the city will be cordoned off and more than 45 mobile police teams will continue their patrols across the district.

On Thursday, the district administration granted permission to Pakistan Democratic Moment to hold a rally in Gujranwala. According to details, a written order issued by Deputy Commissioner Gujranwala said that a rally would be allowed on October 16 at Jinnah Stadium from 5 to 11 pm.

The written order states that Corona SOPs will be implemented during the meeting as per the permission. All terms agreed between the parties are included in the written order. A 28-point agreement has been reached between the district administration and the PDM.

According to the agreement, it is also necessary to keep a distance of 3 to 6 feet between the workers.

No PDM leader will speak outside the stadium and no speech will be made against the national security agencies and the constitution.

The agreement also stipulated that the display of arms and fireworks in the rally will be banned.

Cases will be registered against the management for violation.
